Front entrance to schoolHello and welcome to our beautiful facility! My name is Terri and I am the director. I have 13 years of experience in early childhood education. I have been the director at this center for one year.

I love being around the children and their families. I understand that it is difficult leaving your child to go to work. I understand that the children need nurturing, guidance, assistance and friendships. The parents need this, too. I get the privilege to experience many children’s firsts and I know how important it is to share these experiences with the families. My staff and I truly value the importance of building relationships with our children and families.

When you walk into our school, you get a sense of peace. It is important to us that we maintain a stress-free school. Our décor creates a home-like atmosphere that offers safety, comfort and security. We have hardwood floors, natural colored furniture, plants and big comfy couches in the classrooms. The toys and activities available for the children stand out against neutral colors and make them appealing without overstimulation.

My teachers and I are committed to helping every child grow and develop into lifetime learners. We all work together and work wherever we are needed. I feel this helps families feel at ease when there is a schedule change with staff. It also prepares the families for when the child moves up to the next class. I also feel it lets the families know that any staff member is there to assist them. About 80 percent of the staff have been here for two years and are lead-qualified. We love what we do and we’d love to show you what we can do!

Why Us

Inside view of classroomThe children at our school are attending a program that is safe, secure and full of actively engaged learners. Because communication is important to us, we work extra hard to ensure that all families are comfortable and have opportunities to meet with other families.

Our Programs

Computer stations inside classroomAt Childtime, we believe children learn best when they’re actively engaged. That’s why The Empowered Child™ curriculum ― developed by our team of education experts ― gives children the guidance and freedom to construct their own body of knowledge in ways most meaningful to them.

The Empowered Child™ is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning and is based on the work of respected child development/early education theorists Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson and Lev Vygotsky.

Infant Program:

Our infant room has a “shoe covers must be worn” policy. We also have special covers on our lights. They look like clouds in a bright blue sky. The infants enjoy them! Our teachers are excellent and experienced.

Beginning Steps / Exploration Station / Early Learners Program:

Our toddler room is designed for little busy people. We have a small-capacity room that has a mat with a small climber and tunnels. Everything is designed to help the children be independent, busy and safe. A part-time program is available.

Skill Builders / Kindergarten Connection Program:

Our Empowered Child curriculum is designed to prepare children for kindergarten and beyond. Our classroom has two teachers with many years of experience in both childcare and in the public school system. Our curriculum runs five full days but we do offer part-time programs. The preschool children have the opportunity to enroll in weekly computer classes and Spanish classes. We prepare the children for kindergarten by providing materials and activities that encourage growth in math, reading readiness, social development, language and large motor development. We also provide Milestone Moments twice a year, which are similar to progress reports. We ensure your child is more than prepared for kindergarten.

School-Age Program:

Our school-age classroom reflects the decor as the rest of the center except the children have lockers for their personal belongings. The children have access to computers, music, games, art supplies, etc. We provide care for before and after school for many of the local public schools. We also have a 10-week summer camp loaded with field trips, shows and special activities.

We transport to the following area schools:

  • Union Mill
  • Colin Powell
  • Willow Springs
  • Trinity Christian
  • Centreville
  • Clifton
