Entrance to Childtime.Hello and welcome to our wonderful school! My name is Daphne and I am the director. I have a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and more than 30 years of experience as a teacher and manager.

Our main focus as a care facilitator is our children. I recognize the importance of early childhood education and the impact it has on a child’s future educational success. My staff and I are truly dedicated to this school. We make it a point to get to know our families and make them feeling comfortable here.

We have an excellent reputation as leading educators. Our team of experienced teachers specializes in working together to create a safe and active learning environment for our children.

I take pride in knowing that our children continue to learn and grow on a daily basis. We offer the highest standards of care and education in the area! We value our relationship with parents and know that our facility will provide your child with the tools and skills they need to succeed. Call us today and schedule a tour!

Our Programs

Work and play areas of the classroom. At Childtime, we believe children learn best when they’re actively engaged. That’s why The Empowered Child™ curriculum ― developed by our team of education experts ― gives children the guidance and freedom to construct their own body of knowledge in ways most meaningful to them.

The Empowered Child™ is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning and is based on the work of respected child development/early education theorists Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson and Lev Vygotsky.

Infant Program:

Even our infants have a curriculum, one that encourages growth in all developmental areas, and our infant rooms have abundant space for the movement that is so necessary at this age.

Beginning Steps / Exploration Station / Early Learners Program:

Transition to the toddler rooms is seamless, with emphasis placed on increasing independence and self-help skills. As children move to our 2-year-old program, potty teaching is at the heart of our schedule and our teachers will gladly share their expertise in this area.

Skill Builders / Kindergarten Connection Program:

As we progress with The Empowered Child curriculum, our students engage in more math and literacy activities, using a mixture of hands-on learning with charts and journaling. Our Empowered Child curriculum has been examined by the Maryland State Department of Education and has been approved to prepare children for kindergarten within this state. Teachers plan lessons to deepen understanding of basic academic concepts through exploration, investigation and play. We provide a place where children can challenge themselves and enjoy the thrill of discovery as they look forward to school.

School-Age Program:

Our before- and after-school programs blend homework completion with time to unwind after a busy day. Our staff members help with assignments but also try to recognize when the students’ greater need is to have a few minutes away from academics.

We transport to the following area schools:

  • Kettering
  • Phyllis E. Williams
  • Perrywood
  • Lake Arbor
  • Other public schools also pick up and drop off at our location.
