Welcome to our Childtime daycare center in Reston, VA! My name is Jackie and I am the school director. I have a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education and bring 27 years of experience in the field of early childhood education. I love to see the welcoming look on the face of each child in the morning. I love to see the look of accomplishment in the face of the teacher when a task is completed.
I love to see the parents’ smiles as their children arrive in the center ready to go. I love to see that the children do not want to leave our Childtime Reston because they are having so much fun. We are family-oriented and love what we do! We encourage an open-door environment as well as security.
Our center has been in operation for three years. Ninety percent of our staff members have with us for more than two years. Our infant teacher has been with the company for more than 12 years, something we’re very proud of! We provide onsite training for our staff members and continuing education classes. Here at Childtime, we make it all worthwhile. We offer your child two indoor gyms as well as a library. No matter what the weather, our facility allows our children to work on their large motor skills. We also offer computer classes with children ages 3 and up. Our Programs
At Childtime, we believe children learn best when they’re actively engaged. That’s why The Empowered Child™ curriculum ― developed by our team of education experts ― gives children the guidance and freedom to construct their own body of knowledge in ways most meaningful to them.
The Empowered Child™ is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning and is based on the work of respected child development/early education theorists Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson and Lev Vygotsky.
Infant Program:
Combined, our infant room staff has more than 25 years of experience working in a childcare facility. Every moment with an infant is precious and we take advantage of that. We coo, cuddle, rock, sing and bond with your baby. Our specially designed infant care rooms are places where babies feel safe, secure and happy.
Beginning Steps / Exploration Station / Early Learners Program:
We offer flexible hours for all of our children. We provide an outstanding curriculum for all of our children in the center, including activities like Giggle Bytes and Fit Kids. A part-time program is available.
Skill Builders / Kindergarten Connection Program:
Our children are kindergarten-ready because we keep our curriculum exciting and educational. Each child learns differently, so we adjust the pace accordingly. We offer fun extracurricular activities, including Giggle Bytes, Fit Kids and ABC Kindermusik Music & Me. We ensure our children are more than prepared for kindergarten.
School-Age Program:
We work carefully with our students to keep them on task with their homework. We also offer activities once homework is finished, including arts and crafts, gym time, a science area and quiet area for reading.
