Hello and welcome to our wonderful daycare center of Avon, IN! My name is Marilyn and I am the school director. I have an Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education. I began my career as a preschool teacher and quickly moved into a management role. At Childtime, I feel that each day is a fresh start to spark the creative mind of a young child. As new concepts are being taught and new skills are being learned, you can just see the awe that the children experience.
I truly feel blessed to have such a rewarding job. Our passion is children. Our teachers are eager to teach the children and engage their curiosity. In addition to implementing Kindergarten Readiness Standards, we also incorporate the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards for all classrooms from infants to pre-kindergarten. Our focus is on our families and our Avon community. We are here to extend the care that you provide at home.
Our warm and loving environments create a homelike atmosphere so that you and your child feel comfortable with us. We take pride in our efforts to communicate with you so that we can meet your needs and those of your child. Half our teaching staff is either in the process of earning or has earned a college-level degree in Early Childhood Education. We believe in education, which is why we continue ours to work toward bettering your child’s. Call us today to see why our daycare in Avon, IN is the best at what we do.
Why Us
Families should enroll in our center for the benefit of the Empowered Child curriculum, which affords each child developmentally and age-appropriate settings and activities. Our school is warm and pleasant and our teachers provide exceptional lesson plans to foster a love of learning for our children. We provide a safe, fun and nurturing environment where everyone feels welcome. We have numerous events throughout the year for families to participate in because we truly value participation and encourage the bonding of families and staff.
Our Programs
At Childtime, we believe children learn best when they’re actively engaged. That’s why The Empowered Child™ curriculum — developed by our team of education experts — gives children the guidance and the freedom to construct their own body of knowledge in ways most meaningful to them.
The Empowered Child™ is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning and is based on the work of respected child development/early education theorists Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson and Lev Vygotsky.
Infant Program:
Our infant classrooms currently incorporate baby sign language. This helps the infants build a strong foundation for language and literacy skills as well as pre-reading skills. Our teachers are extremely loving and caring. A part-time program is available.
Beginning Steps / Exploration Station / Early Learners Program:
Our toddler classrooms incorporate sign language into their curriculum. This helps the children build a strong foundation in language, literacy and pre-reading skills. We have weekly music classes, and part-time programs are also available.
Skill Builders / Kindergarten Connection Program:
Our curriculum is meant to engage the whole child. In addition to touching on all content areas, we employ the use of the Foundations to the Indiana Academic Standards. This is an age-appropriate guide to what children should be learning at each stage in order to be successful in kindergarten and beyond. We offer weekly music classes, and part-time programs are also available.
School-Age Program:
During the school year, we have literacy group with the children. Our spacious classroom allows the children to work in small or large groups on a variety of activities throughout the year. We provide homework support during the school year and a fantastic summer program filled with fun and educational field trips.
We transport to the following area schools:
- Avon Community Schools
- Danville Community Schools
Testimonials
My family loves Childtime for the fun atmosphere, quality of people, and environment that actually encourages the appreciation of the teachers and the staff. They understand how to make drop off’s easier, and the staff attempts to involve the parents in activities, and committees.
