THE EMPOWERED CHILD™ CURRICULUM

We know that children learn best when they’re actively engaged. We recognize that they are naturally curious. We believe that all children are talented, capable and special, whether they enjoy music or math, whether they want to be a businessperson or a ballerina. We know they learn critical science, math, reading and writing concepts through hands-on, sensory-oriented activities. Childtime’s unique The Empowered Child™ curriculum gives children the guidance — and the freedom — to construct their own body of knowledge in ways most meaningful to them.

Through The Empowered Child™ curriculum, children:

  • Have access to a huge variety of activities.
  • Discover their own special talents and best ways to learn.
  • Feel valued for who they are.
  • Have the guidance and the freedom to learn in meaningful ways.
  • Develop critical thinking and problem solving.

In fact, Childtime can actually offer families concrete data on how The Empowered Child™ curriculum is meeting the educational and developmental needs of the children in its program. Results from a recent preschool assessment tool showed that children attending Childtime made substantial gains in their learning and development and have the educational skills needed for a successful transition into kindergarten. This assessment tool also assists teachers in developing customized curriculums for each individual child.

Childtime’s The Empowered Child™ curriculum, designed by early education specialists, is inspired by the Reggio Emilia approach to early learning and is based on the work of respected child development/early education theorists Jean Piaget, Erik Erikson and Lev Vygotsky. The Empowered Child™ principles follow the guidelines for developmentally appropriate practice set forth by national accrediting associations.
