Welcome to Our School

Welcome to Childtime Learning Center in Chesapeake, VA! I am proud of our wonderful educational child care center that is both licensed by the state of Virginia and nationally accredited by NECPA. We have a staff of seasoned teachers with more than 75 years of combined experience.

Our school offers Infant Care, Toddler Care, Preschool, Pre-Kindergarten and other early education options, including a Before- and After-school program for your School-Age child! We are conveniently located near the Greenbrier Mall, but enjoy the security of being on the quiet, residential side of Eden Way near the fire station and library.

Francis Fernandez, Director

Education: CDA, BA in Elementary Education, & FL Director's Credential

Certifications: FL State Certifications in Early Childhood, First Aid, CPR, MAT

I recently relocated with my family from Florida. I have five children ranging from ages 10-24 years old. My professional career began in Hospitality Management and transitioned into education as I began motherhood and realized the need for excellence in childcare. With that being said, I was recently part of a project where I was able to help start a Montessori School from the ground up. I look forward to working with you! "Adventure is out there, you just have to be willing to experience it."

Education: BA in Theatre Education, MEd in Early Childhood Education

I grew up in San Diego, CA, and moved to Phoenix, AZ, to attend Grand Canyon University to obtain both my Bachelor's and Master's degrees within the field of education. I just recently moved to Chesapeake in Aug 2023, and am loving the East Coast! I have over a decade of childcare experience ranging from ages 0-18 years. I started my education administration journey in Nov 2023 and am honored to be promoted to Assistant Director. My favorite things to do include singing, thrifting, and theatre.
