Earth Day is April 22. Here are some fun ways to help your child understand the meaning of Earth Day and the importance of protecting our environment:
- Visit a zoo or aquarium — A great way to introduce your child to the wonders and beauty of the natural world.
- Make something out of recyclable materials — Use your imagination and items such as egg cartons, plastic bottles, bottle caps and grocery bags to make something fun and interesting like a caterpillar, a fish, a bird or an insect.
- Feed the birds — This is the time of year that birds migrate. Your child can help them on their journey by making this inexpensive bird feeder: Cover a pinecone with peanut butter and hang it outside.
