Meet Our Childtime Staff – Ms. Fran, Team Lead

Meet Ms. Franchesca “Fran,” the team lead at Childtime in Sierra Vista, AZ. She has been working at this location for 2.5 years! Read on to learn more about Ms. Fran and why she’s such an amazing part of our Childtime team!

Tell us a bit about your background!

I have been working towards obtaining my bachelor’s degree in elementary school and I’m just a couple credits away from that. I also have a certificate of management for daycare as well as 10 years of experience.

Why did you chose a career in early education?

I was 22 when I started. I started working with my best friend who was the owner of a daycare, and I realized it was my passion to work with kids and to teach them and be part of their lives.

In what ways is your job rewarding?

I love when they see me and screamed my name, “Ms. Fran!” My first language is Spanish and they were repeating Spanish words and asking for me to teach them new ones. Every day is rewarding, honestly.

What are some of the duties you have as team lead?

I help everybody with licensing questions, I teach new employees about our “documentation of learning” boards, and I just help them with everything.

Why is early education important for young children?

It’s because they are learning in every single moment. When they are playing, when they are exploring, when they are running and bouncing, they are learning. That’s important.

How would you describe your teaching style?

I like to use every single philosophy, like Montessori and Reggio Emelia, and like to take all those philosophies and do different things with the kids. I like to mix because sometimes I can be a little traditional, just because the district is traditional, so I implement that, but I also like to mix things up.

What do you like about working here at Childtime?

I’m challenging myself. Every single day is different and you’re learning something new.
