Welcome to Childtime in Columbia, MD! My name is Nytia and I am the Center Director. I hold my degree in Business Administration. I have education and training in early childhood, along with more than 19 years of experience working with children.
Whether it's providing loving care for infants or participating in our preschool programs, I love what I do each day and that is watching the children grow and learn. Our curriculum provides exciting hands-on activities with individualized lesson plans that inspire creativity and a love of learning. I strive to create a warm and welcoming environment and maintain an open door policy for anyone who would like to talk.
The staff here is second to none. They receive monthly training and participate in various other training opportunities offered in the community. We exceed the yearly training requirements imposed by the state of Maryland, and we are also trained in First Aid and CPR, as well as Medication Administration and Emergency Preparedness. Safety is also a priority of ours. The main entrance is secured by a unique keypad access system and we ID everyone that enters.
As we work through the pandemic we have heightened our safety measures by...
- Check everyone's temperatures upon entering the building
- Staff wear mask daily and children over the age of two are strongly encouraged
- Parents drop children off at the front door, a team member will walk your child to class and bring them back to you at pick up
- Hand washing procedures have increased to 20 to 30 seconds and more frequently (Children are 20 seconds)
We're also going to have WatchMeGrow live-streaming camera access so our families can check in on their child's classroom through their smart device. Plus, Prep Lab for School-Age to help bridge the gap between school years and support distance learning.
Our school is located off of Snowden River Parkway in Snowden Center, tucked away in a quiet little corner of Columbia between Oakland Mills Rd. and Oak Hall Ln., next to the My Gym Children's Fitness Center. I invite you to schedule your tour today of our Childtime Center so that your family can experience the wonderful care and learning we provide!
Are you concerned about the impact of COVID on your child’s education? You’re not alone. Now, more than ever, early education matters. We’re here to help.
